A Sterile Processing Technician’s responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Ensure all instruments are properly sanitized
  • Prepare and package surgical instruments specific to procedures
 A Surgical Technologist’s responsibilities include:

  • Prepare operating rooms
  • Assist surgeons during surgeries
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs during surgery
  • Assist with wound care and patient transfer after surgery
